ABOUT ME!
Kieran Turnbull is a 22 year-old writer, photographer and filmmaker from Toronto, Ontario. As a child, Kieran would spend his free time thinking up strange stories and creating surreal worlds for his mind to explore in. As an adult, he does much the same but now has to pay rent. Kieran is a recent graduate of Queen’s University’s Film & Media program, and spent just as much time at school working on a variety of creative projects (ranging from being the head videographer for the country’s largest student-run fashion show to being the director of a musical-sketch comedy show) as he did in the classroom. He is now working towards his MFA in Scriptwriting and Story Design at Toronto Metropolitan University, and looking to continue working as a filmmaker and writer in and around the city.
Within his art, Kieran loves to capture the ceaselessly-changing freneticism of the modern world and the lived-in nuances of urban life through a lyrical, offbeat type of magical realism. He adores stories on the margins, and creating that which can make people laugh just as frequently as it can make them think.
